Now I'm sure you're curious as to what my blog title means. Well, I'll tell you.
The word vindicated is defined by dictionary.reference.com as "to clear, as from an accusation, imputation, suspicion, or the like." However, it also lists an obsolete definition: to deliver from; liberate.
You'll find through out this blog that I often speak of things from which I seek liberation, or that I have been delivered from.
So you're thinking, "alright, that's cool I guess.. but that's only half of the word!" Yes, yes, I know. Don't interrupt me! Rude.
'INVICT' is referencing the word Invictus; a latin word meaning unconquerable or undefeated. But more directly it is referencing the great poem Invictus, written by William Ernest Henley in 1875.
So now the question is why in the world did I combine those two words into one super-word? Well, I don't really know. I guess it's the best way to describe the destination I seek in my life. I wish constantly to be liberated, to be unconquerable. I guess that's really why any of us are here. All I know is I have been truly inspired by the poem Invictus, and hopefully I can somehow pass on some inspiration on to you; who knows, maybe it will... vindicate you.
"Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul."
